Pre-Christmas Fair 2014

On Saturday 6th December, many joined us to browse stalls brimming with craft and to enjoy coffee and cake.  We are thankful to those who volunteered their time and talents for this fundraiser and to all who supported the event.

A Surprise Visitor

On Friday 21st November we were all delighted to have a visit from Mr Noel Shields who is serving the Lord in Stranraer and Dumfries.  It was good to hear of the work in Scotland and to have ‘Uncle Noel’ bring God’s Word in our Morning Worship.  He visited the classroom and brought sweets for everyone!

Autumn Walk

On 21st October 2014, a blustery yet sunny day, our primary school pupils participated enthusiastically in their annual Autumn Walk at Kilbroney Forest Park.  Bundled up in coats, hats and gloves, and with ‘wellies’ (for stomping in puddles, etc) on their feet, they became ‘intrepid explorers’.  Pupils used their senses to explore – particularly touch as they collected various items for a linked creative craft activity – and identified conkers, acorns, sycamore keys and various species of leaves.  Afterwards, they enjoyed playtime in the play parks.  A special highlight was buying yummy, sweet treats at the cafe!  Memory snapshots of their day out were photographed (sometimes secretly) by designated pupils.

Col 1:16 ~ “For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth. . . all things were created through him and for him.”

NEW ATLASES

We have just recently received nine new atlases plus a history reference book from the ‘Nestle Box Tops for Books’ initiative. This was possible because of the donation of box tops by our school families during the past school year. We would like to thank all for their support and let you know that we have already begun collecting box tops to be exchanged for books this year again. We would greatly appreciate it if you would continue to send them in. Thanks again!
